All it'll take is for another PL club to come in and match Rangers' demands for this player to switch his tune about wanting to come to Everton. He's a bad sort, IMO. Cried off all his previous clubs looking for transfers out and swung the lead until he got a move. And as has been said - anything like even £5M is a preposterous price for an SPL player. Of course, Moyes does get preposterous in the transfer market on occasion...remember how much he wanted to beat off Blackburn for Barry Ferguson? £11M he was willing to throw at that no paced turkey. Now he'd be willing to throw another £8M down the toilet on this other no paced show pony if the club let him.

Move onto a real striking target before the window shuts you ginger tit.

‘I would be surprised if anybody paid that much and were not very impressed, if I’m honest. We watched him for a few weeks and he didn’t seem much to write home about...‘He has ability, no question. But I don’t know if anybody knows for certain if he is a Premiership player — and that’s the problem. If you are going to pay what Rangers want, then the player has to be proven as a Premiership player, haven’t they?"

Having seen what I've seen of him, I tend to agree.

I hope we get a creative player in as well to help him.
What worries me though is we have no money,how can we finance this deal is the a sting in the tail or are the club leading us up the garden path again i dont trust bill and his band of merrymen one bit.

to be honest, all the vids I have seen of him have only highlighted the fact that defending in Scotland is sh*te. Every header he scored bar one (that I have seen) has been a free header and has always had space in the box. He won't get that in the prem so difficult to know how he will adapt... Just got to hope

24 hours ago I'd have bet that we'd got the required £5M in to pay off the banks this year by selling Bily and that the window would close without further incomings/outgoings. Not now though. If Moyes is planning to throw this sort of crazy money out for Jelavic (even if it is staggered payments) then that means only one thing: one of our current first teamers is out the door by tomorrow evening. I'm 100% convinced of that now.

24 hours ago I'd have bet that we'd got the required £5M in to pay off the banks this year by selling Bily and that the window would close without further incomings/outgoings. Not now though. If Moyes is planning to throw this sort of crazy money out for Jelavic (even if it is staggered payments) then that means only one thing: one of our current first teamers is out the door by tomorrow evening. I'm 100% convinced of that now.

I still think that it is probably a Kenwright plan (Owen, Shearer, Parker esque) to say "We tried"... "We couldn't finalise the move" to try to appease the fans - not that it will

Well that's why I put FWIW before it.

I wouldn;t dismiss it too much though...he does have vast experience of knowing whi is and isn't Championship level quality. It sounds like he'd have taken him at the right price, but not the fantasy price it stands at now.

We can't control the price and I have a sneaky good feeling about Jelavic. Time will tell though.

I hope it's a move to put pressure on Blackburn for lowering what they want on Hoilet.
