Despite everything I find myself rooting for Jela. Yes, he's been badly gash for a year but he hasn't had a proper chance under the rip-roaring Martinez. I fear his brace on Saturday was too little too late.
I'm still rooting for him.
He was excellent when he came to us. Confidence is a funny thing when it comes to strikers, and if he can regain that then he could still have a future here.
He should be in his prime at 28 (and not exactly having worn himself out in the last 12 months). We shouldn't just ship him out without giving it a real go to try to reinvigorate his goalscoring touch.
I'd love for him to start on Saturday. We will create chances, and if he can get onto the end of one, it would do wonders for him. The road back has to start somewhere, right?
