I was talking to the worlds greatest fan last night on facebook of all places about jelavic. topics included, how he is a natural goalscorer and how he hasnt played much in 18 months, which I replyed he played 42 times last season.

They then basically said I'm not a supporter because indont go the match, which I pointed out why that isnt true.

so they threatened to rip my throat out! all because I said jelavic wasnt worth keeping.

Just a little experiece in relation to discussing the above mentioned player mentioned in the topic.

To be honest they are just someone who used to work breifly in our office when I started. they are the clubs biggest fan, gets their picture taken with players and all that

On topic, my point I tried to make to the above was do you not think he played a bit better recently because he is trying to get a move away from the club?

If selling Jelavic means we bring in Demba Ba for £6m then it's a no brainer for me (despite his form for Chelsea he's a top player and still only 28) but there's no point letting him go now and scrambling around Europe for any old player to take his place.

On that note, why the hell aren't we in for Lacina Traore - he's going to West Ham on loan FFS!

QPR are full of experience and near the top of the championship table. Likely to be promoted.

We struggle against the bottom teams of the premier league who are trying to survive there, there isn't much difference between say them and QPR.

£5m for him! Also, I seem to recall we may have gotten away with not paying the total fee of £6m for Jela?

Didn't we only pay about £2.5m up front? Then Rangers went pop and they chased us as creditors didn't they?

I think they still owed us money from Michael Ball mate, something of that nature meant we didn't pay the full fee. Be impressive to make a profit on Jelavic after all that's gone on but once again, I have to say I don't want him to go. They say there's no place for sentiment in football, [Poor language removed] that. Seeing him slot yesterday meant more than any other player, I so wanted him to belt a few in and give himself a lifeline.

I've still got great memories of his ability, and I don't just mean scoring - I watched him closely when we beat WBA 2-0 a month or so after he came. His movement and interplay was class that today, I was convinced we had the real deal on our hands. I don't think he was ever really as good as his initial purple patch but he's got more ability and awareness than he's currently been given credit for, fair enough I suppose after having some poor games and being out the team for a long while. But he still has something to offer, and Lukaku the whole way is not the answer.

Unlikely mate, i honestly don't think he wants to leave, but kinda is resigned to the fact he will be, fair play to him for 4 months he was absolutely boss, sadly it all went wrong after that, but he's always carried himself well and never been an arse so for that will wish him well, got the feeling he will have a great 6 months wherever he goes, but woulndt replicate that if he stayed, just think he's one of those players that has purple patches at new clubs like
