Nico Kovac

We interviewed some good candidates before Koeman was chosen. Managers who would have taken this job on. People need to have faith in the pulling power of the PL + a club of this size: the biggest outside the elite clubs.
"Interviewing" and "hiring" are two different things. We could have had Favre but went with the moon headed Dutch tit.

Bayern Munich has perhaps the most lethal CF in the world atm and still they perform awfully with their current manager, 7th in the league atm... Bunch of overpayed primadonnas. Kovac as #1 and Big Dunc as his second to whip up the boys, Id take that
The fact they are still trying to clean up the mess left from Kovac’s management doesn’t mean the current incumbent is necessarily bad. It would be like Duncan struggling to turn it around here and having patchy form.

Bayern Munich? Is that the team he inherited off the best manager in the world? The team that my 11 year old could have won the domestic treble with?
I am sure they will be very interested in your son if he can guarantee them one trophy this season let alone three.
Plus, "the best manager in the world" was hired by them to win them the Champions league and failed.
There is something very important when talking about Bayern managers. If someone is to be really successful there, he needs to "get" the club fully. Perhaps that is why a fairly unspectacular manager like Heynkess did much better for them than people like Guardiola and Ancelotti.

They totally tanked after that result iirc.

His child was sick, he stepped away to be with her then after she died and he had some time to grieve he stepped back.

Hardly a snake...Moreno meanwhile went behind his close friends back (who had hired him in the first place) and asked the FA to keep him in the job.

For me, Moreno should have told Enrique what he wanted and they should have given the FA an option and one should have left.
Nah - Moreno had an obligation to step aside and assist his “friend” again. Moreno is the one who is an utter snake as far as I’m concerned. He would have probably gotten the job after Enrique left anyway if he had not been so dishonorable. The Spanish FA obviously felt the same.

That association seems to value honor (look at how they sacked the manager who announced he was taking Real before the World Cup). He should have borne that in mind.

Spot on a dead right about the Real example ;)

His name is in the hat and he is taking a closer look at the opportunities at Everton and Arsenal.

He is a solid option for us and with United on Sunday, I would expect a manager to be announced soon so they have the opportunity to settle in and have time to prepare.

I think Dunc has done himself proud and the club but if you listen to his interviews and Old Bill, it's a short term appointment so WATCH THIS SPACE x

Oh and being German helps.

If this guy is trying to decide between us an Arsenal do we really want someone who needs convincing? It would be another appointment were they view us as a stepping stone.
