Actually Nazi Germany was economically successful - amazingly so between the years of 1933 and 1939. That's actually a major contributing reason as to why his atrocities were allowed; Germans were living the good life and wanted more of it and turned a blind eye to the fact he was a bit of a loon to say the least.
Annexing didn't occur until 1936, which was after the biggest economic growth period in German history had occurred. In Hitler's first four or five years in power he reduced unemployment by about 70% and brought the country out of recession - something the Weimar Republic beforehand couldn't have dreamed of.
EDIT: I should add to this that after 1940 things went... erm... "pear shaped" obviously due to the war efforts and the whole "Nazi thing" of hating everything that walks that wasn't Aryan!!!!

I stand corrected mate. I remember reading that they were massively outproduced by the allies during the 40s and relied heavily on stripping conquered territory for resources then but given the state of germany during the 20s I suppose the fact they even reached that stage was a minor miracle.

Yeah the 40s were a different story entirely - everything went t*ts up - but the way he rebuilt that economy in 1930's was just astonishing, it really was. It might sound crazy but if he hasn't been such a lunatic and had simply balanced the books and revised his economic policy in times of strength and peace (instead of going all Hitler on us xD) then he would have went down as one of the greatest leaders Germany ever had.The way he galvanised an entire country via a sheer force of will is also fascinating. Things like the Nazi Youth, which almost eradicated youth transgression and gave an entire generation of youngsters a platform to adulthood, is something I still think is a great idea (except for the whole propaganda aspect of it!!!).
It's easy to just say "the Nazi's eh, what a gang of t*ts" but if you study them closely you can't help but marvel at certain aspects of that period of governance (and marvel at how horrific the other 95% of it was of course!)

Hitler had his boat pissed on and he made his own niece eat his waste matter while he whooped her from behind and fapped while making mule noises.
