It's a disgrace that the tory government left the NHS so underfunded that this was allowed to occur.

Systems with licenses out of date and old IT systems. Any suffering of any patient due to this is firmly on the tories.
Well they were well out of date when Labour were in power. Remember the shambles of the IT when they were in charge. Whoever is in government doesn't spend the money correctly on IT and give the contract to a bunch of cowboys.

16 years I read somewhere, which puts it smack bang in the middle of B.liar's reign......however this is not the time for who's fault it is. Amazing how we used to be able to see doctors and go to hospitals before computerisation interlinked the whole service only to be brought down by computer malware........progress eh.....

Windows NT was passable seven years ago. They've stopped producing updates for it since. Right on the tories this but loving your feeble Labour deflection sir.

No they weren't - XP stopped getting security updates in 2014. They were warned about updates stopping by 2014 around 2007/8, so you could criticize Labour for not putting measures in place immediately, but the fault for this likes squarely with the Coalition and the Tories.

What I am saying is they are all as bad as each other. None of them have a good record over IT. To try and point score on this is feeble deflection when you think back to the tax credit shambles under them but hey you do that all the time anyway when they are both rubbish.

My old civil service department had Windows 10. However my new department only has Windows 8 I think. Admittedly some of the people do have Windows 10 in my department but they are more important people than me.

The state of each department is down to whatever procurement contract they have. The fact this was outsourced hasn't helped as the cost of upgrading networks is enormous and if this was brought back in-house the costs would go down and would be updated quicker.

But the government don't allow you to do this In house they force you to use outside agencies.

"Feeble deflection" my arse. This is what "strong and stable" is - unsafe NHS systems, record numbers of prison suicides, the gig economy, soldiers kicked out in order to avoid paying them a pension.

Let's not forget that they cut the security support for this outdated system a year ago.

But yeah let's blame Labour.
