I went to bed and the packers picked a receiver
The power of honest drunkness. Behold Bud Light Giants Fan.
Hope he covered all that beforehand. Go figure.
Mad that that the Vikes took a guard instead of trading down
We got destroyed by the Lions and Rams because our interior O Line was below average.
We now have replaced all 3 positions. I'm backing this
My good friend Packers fan (who is sharp) wanted anything but. Pundits all think he's wrong. It's possible to tell the difference between Saban and Herbie saying nice things and when they believe. They know their stuff.I went to bed and the packers picked a receiver

I don't think he's the next Rice or Fitzgerald, route running is the skill at the position, but I do think they finally handed Love a #1. It's sensible, given a late first. If Love can't do it with all the pieces, what comes next is now obvious.
WR is a weird one in the sense I think it's the easiest position to project, but there are still a ton of surprises. Most guys make the leap after the draft, but it's easier to tell who can do it.Christian Watson is the best receiver when fit but he might not play much at all next season because of the injury. I think that's why they finally went for a round 1 receiver.

I've seen three special ones in college since Moss rewrote the rules. Fitzgerald, CJ, Crabtree. Of the three, I had the most doubt about the last. I've missed a ton of first-rate guys along the way. Harrison's kid is a step down from those three, but is also the best I've laid eyes on since, in college.
I get where my friend is coming from. I want routes, no drops and Gary Clark's intangibles, like blocking. The legends are always something new, complete with identity. No one will ever be Rice 2.0. He runs routes and gets out of bounds without contact better than you.
Watson is not a sure thing, or a workhorse. He's a project in all the wrong ways. I think it works out, but if it doesn't the failure will be spectacular. He's a pays your money and takes your chances pick, which is why he does not appeal to a Packers fan.
As a packers fan, I liked the pick yesterday. I'm not a college expert by any means but from what I've seen Golden can add a lot of pace and a deep threat for Love. And that's going to be important next season when Watson is likely to be out till Thanksgiving.WR is a weird one in the sense I think it's the easiest position to project, but there are still a ton of surprises.
