In a multitude of ways, yes.

But it's still not as simple as "best qb wins". Look at last year if recency matters more to you than established precedent: the Rams had the best overall roster, so they won the SB. There's at least half a dozen qbs who could widely be viewed as better than Stafford - Joe Burrow being one of them - but the Rams won. Because their DL was better than Cincinnati's OL. I'm sure you'd insist that Mahomes is better than Burrow, but if that's so then results can't just rest on the QB can they? Because Mahomes keeps losing to Burrow and the Bengals.

There are dozens of matchups in every game and they change from play to play: deep rosters are therefore an advantage and the more matchups you win all over the field the less impact any individual matchup has on the result.

This is why narrow wins, and indeed narrow losses, tell you more than a blowout win does. Blowout wins don't expose matchups like dime corners v #4 WRs and have the result hinge on it.
To a point agree about Stafford - but don’t forget he was brought in as a big armed upgrade over Goff, not as an afterthought.

And as for Mahomes the Chiefs wouldn’t make anywhere near 4 straight afc title games and 2 Super Bowls without him.

He’s only played Burrow twice so not a large enough sample size to comment on at the stage.

Bengals D has decided to turn up today. Trey Hendrickson and Logan Wilson are legit.

Jalen Hurts looking good for Philly, Lamar Jackson looking flat out scary for Baltimore.

Matt Ryan and the Colts taking it to the wire against Kansas City... Looks like a very close game. You can learn a lot from close games.
