No one counts the running back in Baltimore as a serious challenger. The Chargers will always be the Chargers.

What’s left?
The team with two guys who run 4.2s, the team that made the Super Bowl last year, potentially the team with a solid core and new QB if they get it together

The bengals could be 1-5 by week 6 if you look at their schedule.
They might be, but they're still a threat if they get in somehow.

I think a lot of good teams are in the AFC, the Bills have been a cut above but they're losing important players and frankly I don't think they're infallible still on offense. They're really talented but they don't run and don't block at a high level which someone will figure out how to play against.

It's week 3 you weirdo. Almost every team is still in contention for the playoffs.

And Baltimore won a Superbowl with Trent Dilfer at QB, so Lamar certainly won't be a hindrance to them. If the Ravens get their D firing on all cylinders, they can compete.

It's wild because Lamar to this point on his career has been a better QB than Josh Allen but he doesn't look like a QB is supposed to look so one is the best and the other isn't.

Genuinely dont know where you are getting that from. Allen has outperformed the Running Back the last 2 seasons apart from running the ball, naturally.

the game has moved on since 1999 mate.

To this point would include 2019 as well mate, the year where Lamar was the best player in football. That's totally fair too, both were in their first year as starters but Allen actually played more as a rookie.

Also no one wants to talk about Allen's efficiency stats from last season. I've said it before on here he looks great so far but last year was more up and down than people will have you believe and I'd like to see a lot more than two weeks straight of up before I believe the down is eliminated from his game.

In a multitude of ways, yes.

But it's still not as simple as "best qb wins". Look at last year if recency matters more to you than established precedent: the Rams had the best overall roster, so they won the SB. There's at least half a dozen qbs who could widely be viewed as better than Stafford - Joe Burrow being one of them - but the Rams won. Because their DL was better than Cincinnati's OL. I'm sure you'd insist that Mahomes is better than Burrow, but if that's so then results can't just rest on the QB can they? Because Mahomes keeps losing to Burrow and the Bengals.

There are dozens of matchups in every game and they change from play to play: deep rosters are therefore an advantage and the more matchups you win all over the field the less impact any individual matchup has on the result.

This is why narrow wins, and indeed narrow losses, tell you more than a blowout win does. Blowout wins don't expose matchups like dime corners v #4 WRs and have the result hinge on it.
