Neymar Was so Good for Brazil in Istanbul That the Turkey Fans Chanted His Name

Neymar's two goals took his international tally to 42, an amazing total when you consider he is still just 22.

phenomenal, i know the south americans aren't renowned for their defending, but that's still astonishing. that's only 5 less than any england player has managed in their career.

he'll be on what 100 international goals before he's even reached his peak. i thought he was a tad overrated and didn't really like him, but i grew a massive amount of respect for the kid for the way he carried his country in that world cup.

Just as talented as Messi this boy. More so than Ronaldo. If he works half as hard as the latter he'll be one of the best ever.

The way he has dealt with the huge pressure on him, both from club and country, is as impressive as his talent on the pitch.

He's a whiney little bitch with a face I'd never tire of punching. I'll give him his dues that he did his best to drag that Brazil team through the WC (through a combination of determination and theatrics) and without his efforts we would probably not have then them given at utter pasting at the hands of Germany. So for that I salute him.

Not even near the same class as either IMO.

I'd echo that, and it's worth remembering that just 8 of his 42 goals for Brazil have come in competitive matches. I know that's skewed because Brazil didn't need to qualify for the last World Cup, but it's still worth baring in mind.

Clearly a super talented player of course, but Messi and Ronaldo have set the bar incredibly high.

In the tier below them two for me but hey who are we to argue?

He's a bit better than McGeady like.

controversial words, would like some stats to back that up tbh. remember one's a winger and the other's a striker, so obviously going to have a better scoring rate.

true, but then again, they didn't have to qualify for the WC so that's a good two years of footy discarded from a 22 year old.
