No team should ever qualify for European football (unless it's the CWC) based on winning a cup anyway imo. Not the FA Cup and certainly not the League Cup.

I'm sorry but of course I would want to win it. Regardless of the changes and perhaps reduced significance or reputation, a recognised trophy is still a trophy.

I want Everton to win everything - yes everything! We need to get back into winning days and this could act as a catalyst or at least something to give us a boost.

So if the eventual FA Cup winners are already in Europe (and we include whatever has happened with this years League Cup and City being out,) how far down can it go position wise?

At least if anyone who qualified previously for Europe via the last season, couldn't be in it, and a European place was guaranteed for the winner- it would mean there's a different winner every year, and therefore different teams get to qualify for europe. Make it a CL space, and it would really shake up the league.

That might be the best suggestion I've heard to revitalise it. Mind you the tv companies just want United and the rs games so not a chance long term.

Yes mate, I remember something about yet another European competition but aparently a Europa League spot has gone/going.
It's all getting a bit silly but another competition helps along towards EUFA's end future goal of European leagues, (much to the detriment of all the domestic leagues.)
