next season

Everything depends on what happens over the summer (obviously).

I think if all we do is secure Pienaar (which itself is a big ask considering our financial situation), then we are still gonna be in the mix for a top 8 finish, that isn't gonna change. Given the football we have played since January, it is safe to say that with our current squad, we are better than the likes of Fulham, Sunderland and West Brom. I personally think that we are better than Liverpool and Newcastle too, if we play to our potential from the start of the season. To think that we might finish 7th this season after the way we started is remarkable.

I just cant see us starting badly again next season, I know its happened for the last 3 seasons, but I just dont think it will happen again, I think next season we will start brightly.

We know how to put a cup run together, our squad certainly has the belief you need to get to Wembley, but whether or not we can actually win the Carling Cup/FA Cup, who knows. We are definitly good enough, and this should be our number one priority.

So it all comes to down to what business we can do in the summer. If we can somehow find the finances to bring in a Right Winger and a Midfielder to sit just behind Jelavic (whilst keeping hold of all our players), then the skys the limit. You've seen what Spurs and Newcastle have done this season, with a couple of additions, why cant that be us?

My prediction: 6th in the league, but with a much higher points total than this year, and a much more competitive top 8.

I'm taking a summer holiday from GOT, newspapers, Sky Sports News, carrier pigeons, smoke signals and Postman Pat.

I'll come back in August once the takeover goes through.

This. I learned a while ago that Everton summers are full of anger, frustration and shattered hope. Then the season starts and it continues until the end of the transfer window. Sometimes it continues further. For the sake of my sanity I try not to speculate on coming seasons.

*secretly hopes we get a shock Man City style benefactor in the summer so we can buy some quality and boss the league*

Newcastle will drop down to mid-table, but Liverpool will undoubtedly spend a ton more money and will push on to the top 5, leaving us in much the same position we are now.

Pretty much this.

There will probably be a bigger gap between the top teams and us, too. What, with Arsenal starting the season better and Chelsea on a spending spree (no matter the Fair Play rules).

I think we might just attack up the middle next season. Maybe. Probably not.

Same as always...

We're stuck in limbo till we get investment...:(
It's like effing Groundhog Day for us...
