I don’t really get the Arteta hate. There’s loads of reasons why the sale was left late. It actually worked for our board so there wasn’t any pressure to use the funds.

He’s meant to be a talented coach but I fear he wouldn’t have the personality to command and inspire at the level we need.

We’ve seen with Koeman and Silva that we need either a manager with a winning record (Carlo) or someone who can inspire (Gallardo, who also wins plenty..).

Arteta isn't my first choice, but compared to most of the realistic possibilities he's streets ahead. He's been touted as a coach with huge potential (and a future top level manager) since before he's even qualified for his badges... He nearly got the Arsenal job 18 months ago, and since then has another year and a half working with (arguably) the best manager in the world.

Is he a guarantee of success? No (but nor is anyone else). But he has a much higher potential ceiling than most of those we seem to be in the market for.
I have no doubt he can be a great manager in time. There is a lot of pressure at Everton an he has no experience. That’s why I feel it’s to soon. There is a risk with everything tho I guess. That said I would rather take the chance with him than have a Moyes or Howe. Am just hoping Everton can pull a Carlo out the bag.

It's not like Ancelotti is without risk to be fair.

No it’s no everything is a risk but if your looking at it logically it’s less a risk than Arteta. The man is a world class manager an proven it. We can all think what we want about Arteta but he has proven nothing he might go on to be a great manager he might not. Carlo is a great manager already.

100% record for Dunk that one win is more than Arteta has. Seriously tho I don’t want any of them to be are next manager. I don’t no why people would want Arteta at this moment in time each to there own tho I guess. Me personally think we need a manager with some kind of experience of managing at a high level.
"Dunc"
"Know"
& "ours"

Actually we have Gomes, Delph and Gbamin in the midfield (with likely reinforcements in the summer)

Unless you're advocating we rule managers in or out on the basis of a short term injury crisis?

Delph has been garbage, Gomes as had as many bad games as good & Gbamin is a complete unknown.

By all means appoint Arteta but dont be moaning if he fails spectaculary as you are advocating a complete novice based on him being Guardiola's assistant at a club full of world class players.

Not as my first choice, but over some of the likely alternatives? Absolutely.

How long could you genuinely see Ancelotti being here for though? And we also have no evidence (at least from within the last 2 decades) of his ability to take on a team in our sort of position and build it up.

I don’t no how long he might be here. I do no having him as manager will rise are profile as a club. He comes in an he’s one of the best Managers in the league up there with Pep an Klopp. He would maybe be able to attract a higher lever of player also the top players want to play for the top managers. An what evidence do we have of Arteta building a team up exactly none Ancelotti might not have done it for a long time but he has done it.

I get you wanting Arteta instead of some of the names mentioned but really wanting him instead of a proven world class manager. I don’t get that one bit if am honest.
