Seriously though, not on a wind up (because I’ve said it before today) I don’t think Hughes would be THAT terrible an option. He’s proven he can create organised, hard to beat sides in the past, playing decent Football too - and he can also be very shrewd in the transfer market.

Obviously I’d rather we showed the ambition to go for an Allegri, Pochettino etc but I don’t believe we’d be able to in all honesty. My personal preference is the man in my avatar. We’ll likely need to look a tier or two below the top, top coaches perhaps at the likes of Spalletti, Marcelino and Hughes - assuming we appoint an available manager (which Is likely given the compensation we’d need to pay to release an employed coach from their contract again)

We need someone to root and branch this club, I don't want superstars or household names, I want players who will sweat for my club, they can get beat providing I know they tried , this lot are not interested, they just want their money before they move on to the next mugs who will pay them more money.
Whoever comes in, I hope that they have just a bit of personality and don't look like they have lost £20 and found a fiver.
I want speed from the players, not this ponderous side to side going nowhere football that we are seeing now.
I could go on, I'm 60 odd and feel like a 15 year old girl who's boyfriend has just finished with them.

Just get Benitez in. He's a realistic target that would undoubtedly improve us long term. Its just common sense, pinch your nose Everton and get it done.
