Well the lesson to be learnt here for next time is that you really should sack your underperforming Manager when it requires, and not wait/dither/procrastinate until the end of the season.

This "extensive search" with a recruitment firm should have been conducted months back.

Who says they didn't start laying groundwork earlier?

Besides all the top targets bar Mourinho were all employed and busy with the ends of their seasons. I don't think we would be any further along in the process even if we had started the day after the loss to City.

I would be very surprised.

As nobody else wants to give an update and I suppose it's left to me (seems like all the other ITK's have gone quiet!)

Meeting with Emery reps took place today.

Very productive meeting and Emery clearly wants to be a manager in the Premier League and our 'project interests him greatly'.

Buy out clause and salary are not an issue.

BUT Real Madrid are......

Essentially if we want Emery, we need Real to win on Sat.

Then this deal has a real chance of happening, if not we have our work cut out as he has a very good chance of replacing Zidane.

Depending on Saturday's outcome, Emery will be in London for further discussions and hopefully confirmed as EFC manager at some point next week.

I'm not trying to make friends or enemies, just passing on well sourced information.

At this moment, De Boer is not an option.
Who in the hell are you like?

Question, let's say we get Emery. Is anyone worried about his relationship with Deulofeu? I remember reading about his loan to Sevilla and how the team and Emery were disappointed with him. I'd hate to have that carry over here at Everton

Not worried in the slightest.

If Deulofeu is good enough and puts the work in then he gets in the team.

I think he's matured and is a different player. Besides, any fondness Duelofeu had for Martinez likely evaporated after about the fourth consecutive game he sat the bench whilst in the top 5 in assists. Of all our players, Duelofeu would know first what Emery demands.

Yeah that really irked me with Martinez. Bench one of the top assisters in the league over and over

Im not, thing is I like Del but Emery could be the right man, we need a top manager, up to Del then to get himself sorted and into the team.

I really like Del-boy...but it's up to him to put the work in. Let's face it, he's unfit.
