Koeman may be the current most likeliest per Esk, but if the club are still retaining a search firm, then it's entirely possible a more appealing candidate will emerge from that process. I'm thinking that Koeman taking the job is directly linked to a DoF being appointed, as he seems more comfortable under that structure than many others who may be willing to consider an approach. In considering potential replacements, I have probably become too narrow in linking the job to that of Mourinho, Koeman, De Boer, and Pellegrini.
I wonder if this search firm suggests names based on an agreed set of criteria, and then make an approach through an agent/back channel, or would they be more direct and approach candidates based on their own assessment of what we need/want, after an initial brief? It would be fascinating to be a fly on the wall at a discussion between the board and the search firm, and the names that would emerge as being under consideration. A "leftfield" candidate may come out of nowhere.
I'm also intrigued as to whether Moshiri is taking personal charge of this process in that he would have to meet and approve a candidate, and then put it to the board for collective ratification, or will they all come to a consensus together. It seems the more direct involvement Moshiri has, the better the potential outcome for us.
