Not so keen on Jose purely because of his history (or lack of) bringing the youngsters through. But would pellegrini be any better?

Depends if the kids are good enough. Pellegrini and Jose were at clubs who demanded success now and they couldnt afford to develop younger players so the easier approach is to buy ready made players in their peak.
