Not manager related but I've pretty much had the fact that Niasse was a Martinez gamble confirmed.

No scout takes any responsibility for him, especially the former chief scout Reeves, so the logical conclusion is that Martinez took a gamble on another striker with decent numbers in Russia to balance out Naismith leaving.

You need a visa to get into Russia with months of planning and no scout went out there to look at him. Most likely a DVD job sent out by agents or through Wyscout.
