Posted this as a reply in the Emery threat but this is the specialist in failure Frank De Boer failing to win a 2 team league for the 2nd year in a row, here's his season that apparently makes him qualified just cause he used to be a great footballer.

De Boer season achievements

CL qualifying lost to the Austrian powerhouse Rapid Vienna
Europa League Group stages - failed to get out of a group with Celtic, Molde, Fenerbahce, won 1 game out of 6.
Dutch Cup - lost to hated rivals Feyenoord
Dutch League - just had to beat something called De Grafschaap to win the league, bottled it and drew.

The Ajax academy produced players before he joined and will produce after he has left, FdB has nothing to do with Ajax youth academy, if he didn't have a great playing career he wouldn't even be considered.

Who isnt a risk?

If its a proven Premiership manager you want, Moyes is out of work and we just lost Brenda to Celtic.

Roy Keane would come without a 2nd thought.

Im sure we could get Eddie Howe, Pardew, Alex Neil, that bloke from Watford or Big Sam.

Take your pick mate.

Pardew has signed a new deal. It made me happy.

TBF mate, you've been massively critical of Koeman, he'd be a lesser risk. In fact he wouldn't be a risk at all.

He has touted himself for every premier league job that has been available for god knows how long.... i doubt either of those things ever happened, especially the liverpool job...

Ajax boss Frank de Boer has claimed he turned down Liverpool FC’s approach during their search for a new manager in 2012.

The Reds eventually appointed Brendan Rodgers to take charge at Anfield in the summer of 2012, but the Ulsterman had initially declined the chance to speak with Liverpool about the vacant managerial position.

De Boer, who took charge at Ajax in December 2010, was one of the names linked with the job after winning the Dutch league title in his first two seasons in charge.

“Two years ago I was very honoured that Liverpool asked me if I was interested in the job,” De Boer said.

“There was still was other candidates also. But I just signed a new contract and I said you are too early at this moment.

The Dutchman has since won a further two titles with Ajax, although they are currently four points adrift of leaders PSV Eindhoven.

He also revealed he had an offer from Tottenham this summer, and that he would like to manage in the Premier League in the future.

Yeah totally ignore his 4 league titles on the run.

And the fact that he had his whole team sold in his 6 years at the club.

Koeman is a steady eddie.

But hes staying at Southampton and doesnt consider us big enough to leave them for.
That's only 'come out' over the last few days and is still debatable.

You were critical weeks ago. Didn't you give him a manager rating of 3/10 and to give that perspective you gave Martinez 2/10.

I didnt want Koeman, but I did the research and he grew on me, I was happy for him to come, but hes turned total rat cos Southampton got Europa.

So was McClaren. And AVB. Until they came to the premier league. I want someone who has a proven record in this league. My cautious side says get Koeman and hope that the step up in transfer kitty will result in CL for us. I don't want to be the team that De Boer cuts his teeth on. Feel like this could go Bobby on us.

What experience did Koeman have before Saints in this league?

There is a risk with anyone. And everyone.

Koeman has done well with a smaller club (LOL) a lot like Mike Walker did.

While I totally get your De Boer concerns. I don't like the comparison to Martinez. De Boer is steeped in Ajax and Barcelona. Martinez was stewed in Swansea and Wigan.

Since Cocu joined PSV and developed his own team, PSV have been better winning two titles in a row, PSV also got to the Champions League knockout stages this season and took Atletico Madrid to penalties who are now in the final.

Cocu has proved himself to be a better manager than De Boer who took control of the strongest team and ran off some titles against very weak competition and when finally challenged has failed two years in a row, also he has been shocking in Europe.

You could argue that De Boer isn't even the best candidate from the Dutch League.
