sorry KB, but you are talking through your armpit there

NO TO SAM

We are utter mince. Koeman banded together an absolutely pony of side.

Either Tuchel (like it's going to happen) is going to be firefighter and captain of the ship to the promise land....or it's Sean "Burnley" Dyche who'll take us to prem and cup glory.

Personally put more money on Big Sam turning a pony side into a decent mid table side than any of the above doing so.

Have a go if you want, but I'd pay Allardyce double what he wants to ensure that we get him.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with playing a pragmatic style of football, Martinez illustratated that 'beautiful' football isn't everything. He knows how to set up a team, and knows how to get the best out of the players given to him.

He's by no means a long-term solution, but when you're in the position we find ourselves in - we simply can't afford blue sky thinking.

My thoughts exactly.

We have an awful team.

We need to hire a good manager who we believe can take us forward. A good manager should be able to sort out the squad enough to get us up the table a bit for this season, but will also be the man to plan beyond that and start looking forward.

We are ten games in and playing utter crap, but are not doomed as some seem to think and don't need to settle for fixers....especially arrogant corrupt ones. I'm surprised by the amount of normally sensible posters mentioning him and Moyes.

Oh yeah, I'd take that right now.

I think we'll do better than that though.

They'll miss Deeney...a lot. He's the battering ram that would have smashed our lacking in confidence defence.

We needed a slice of luck and we got it. Now we have to take it and make it pay for us.
Okaka bullied our backline last season ,done the same to liverpool this year.
Dont rate Deeney at all meself like.
I'd be more worried about Richarlson , looks a player this lad. Baines & Kenny will be having nightmares.
I'm hoping we have a new man in by Sunday.

I don't think you realise how bad we are. If we get the wrong guy in we're going down.

I don't see any evidence to suggest our current players can turn our form around to any great extent.

Nah, I'm with @bluestevon on this. There has to be some standards and if we give in and appoint Allardyce we've just become A. N. Other club that doesn't really have an identity. The man is a crook and we're simply making him a richer crook.

It's not even speculative; he got caught in the sting that cost him the England job, he was heavily hinted at in the Panorama doc that he was up to no good, and even that video of Steve Kean drunk he is called a 'crook' directly.

We either have some standards, or we don't have any and we'll be hiring whatever the El-Hadji Djouf equivalent today is (a man who Allardyce signed twice).

I also think amongst other things that Allardyce would split the fan base, which could quickly create a very nasty environment.

Anything more than an end of season contract would be insane.

Moyes shouldn't be on any list.

While I agree with you, from what I've read it's looking more than likely Dyche which I think is a big no no. If we're playing in that ball park, the only option for me would be Big Sam over him.

The next tier is your Tuchel's which I don't even think we're going to approach.

Your Silva's can also be discounted too as the feller has never lasted longer than 12months in a job.

It's an utter mess. The Big Sam one is the only thing that offers better stability compared to the rest

Split the fanbase how? The ones who expect Barcelona style football and the ones who like to stay in the premiership?

Just got back from Lyon and I'm currently very depressed about our future. It feels like we are once again at a crossroads in our history, a history in which it feels like we have continually taken the wrong turns.
One thing I am absolutely certain of though is that if at this juncture we take the turn into the ropey back street labelled 'Allardyce Avenue ' it'll be a dead end we'll struggle to get out of.
I would seriously prefer to get relegated and hope we could rebuild from there than take this particular avenue.

Please make this Fat Sam talk go away.

Anyone we employ will split the fan base so best not worry about that. I’m pretty sure the delay is because incoming manager has a team already and wants to get through weekend. That’s my gut anyway.
