There is only one Captain

Surprised at the comments about Baines not being vocal. When i watch him he's always having a go at Pienaar/Kev/Felli if they mess up, he'd grow into the role of captain well imo.

Distin will play one more season at best, we've already more or less agreed that Baines isn't a vocal leader type, so who, out of the current squad, would be ahead of Gibson to be vice captain?

Just so's you know, anyone who says Osman is going on the ignore list.

I'd have Howard before Gibson and in Moyes world Osman will definately be ahead of Gibson.

I think we need to look to the future. None of the current first team are captain material as they never seem to show the leadership qualities required when the chips down. Cast your mind back 30 years, many people raised an eyebrow when a young and fairly inexperienced Kevin Ratcliffe was given the armband by Kendall. Step forward Shane Duffy.

Baines would be my choice of the current team.Jags too........nice.I can't remember the last "nasty" challenge he made.I think a captain needs some steel in his game.

Captain of the ressies.

See how he plays with a full season under his belt in the first team but he has all the makings of the traditional Everton captain, big, strong, centre half.
