I think if Manny ever got his act together (consistency, attitude, work rate) he could be a top player, up there with the best in Europe and certainly ahead of Moutinho.

If you look at his all round attributes he does have alot going for him, more than most anyway. He has a good mix of physical and technical attributes and he could go a long way. Maybe he just needs to settle down, he’s doing reasonably well at Valencia but I can see him moving again which isn’t good for his career but Valencia are in a mess.

Moutinho is a far more mature player though, he's far more consistent and unlike Manny he will turn up week in week out. The only problem with him is he's unproven, he's still playing in Portugal whereas Manny has produced good performances in both Spain and England, at a higher level.

I’ll go for Manny, only just though. I think under Moyes’ wing he could develop into an excellent, consistent performer if we signed him permanently.

In reality I can’t see us getting either of them, sadly. With Arteta in the middle we don’t really need them.

How do we not need them? Either of those players are exactly what we need. If we don't sign either of them or someone similar in the summer I'll be gutted.

We do need to sign quality midfielders, I'd say priority would be a quality wide player though.

Would you play Moutinho or Fernandes outwide?

Thats the thing, The Mout is a better pro than Manny. As you almost pointed out, Manny is very wishy washy. Where as The Mout plays at the same level week in, week out. I agree that Manny maybe would offer you more flair and would also produce the most Hollywood balls. The Mout would be a steady eddy, threading some decent balls and when he can turning on the flair.

I think out of the 2 The Mout would play better alongside Arteta. If we had these 2 boys at CM we would be unstoppable. But i suppose Manny could also play alongside Arteta, which would allow us to play either Fellaini or Cahill in the second striker role.

The problem this season has been players to unlock teams, Arteta can, Pienaar can sometimes, even Ossie can spot a good pass. But we lack ball playing Midfielders. Either The Mout or Manny would give us that something extra. But a Right sided winger with pace must be our first purchase.

I've never seen Moutinho play outwide so I can't really say anything about that. Manuel wasn't too bad when he played wide for us, he's still an excellent player whereever he plays, but he was definitely out of position. If we signed both of them I don't think they'd get in the same team.

It's tough to say whether we need more a centre mid or a wide player. Maybe not having a new winger next season would hurt us more than not having a new centre mid. I get the feeling that you can't really guarantee good wingers in the same way you can central midfielders tho. I mean, say we signed Moutinho or Manuel for loads of money, I reckon they would be a guaranteed success. With wingers you can't really tell how they're going to fit in, especially if it was a foreigner in a new league. It'd be very easy to blow the whole budget on some skillful little latin man and then find they can't hack the prem. Might be better off with a 3million gamble on a nobody, something like that.

True, I think like Arteta, Fernandes could develop into a good wide player who cuts inside. He bossed the game against Newcastle there last day of the season and looked very good.

Moyes has always liked central players outwide, that is true. The likes of Osman, Pienaar, Arteta and Fernandes etc.

LYON (AFP) — Juninho Pernambucano, skipper of Lyon's serial champions, said Friday he would wait until the season's end to see what the future holds but admitted he might well choose to finish off his career with Brazilian second-tier outfit Vasco de Gama.
Juninho, who had six years with the club before coming to France in 2001, is out of contract in June but Lyon say they will abide by his decision as to whether he wishes to prolong his stay or return home.
"There are nine matches left to play to help the club to an eighth title and I am concentrating on that. Today, I will not allow myself to think about me," Juninho said, adding the support of the fans could help him make up his mind.
"I hope my story with this club will come to an end in the best way possible," added the Brazilian, who has won seven league crowns as well as the French Cup last season.
"If I can continue to play at this level I may well carry on but returning home to Vasco de Gama is also on the cards," said Juninho, who noted the club have just been relegated for the first time.

Hello Junin?

Oh ok sorry, I thought it was about his love of all things Everton and the letter he wrote to Bill at Christmas. Thanks for clearing that up mate.

Well if you knew, why did you add :

Hello Junin?

At the end?

That, plus the bit in bold about his contract expiry, implys that you think he could be interested?
