Player Valuation: Free Transfer
Hi,

What do you guys realistically think we could achieve from our next 4 league games? 2 at home and 2 away. The two away being Chelsea and Villa of course.

In my opinion I think 10 pts is both needed and achievable. We definitely need to beat Villa as this is a six pointer and I also feel we can and need to win the two home games with a draw against Chelsea. This I feel would put us in a very strong fifth position (given that Villa have to play Utd, ourselves and West Ham over same period which are all tough games)

What does anybody else think? How many points achievable over that period and what effect on our league position?

I can't see us getting anything from Chelsea. Can see us beating all the rest, especially Villa who are on a rockety bridge at the moment,

I can still see us nicking 4th spot if the Arse slip up,

Welcome mate. I think were going to stutter a little here but its understandable with our injury list. We still should finish sixth or maybe fifth if Villa's parachute doesnt open.

The Mout is a far better all rounded Midfielder. Simple maths, we could have bought Manny for £12m, but £12m wasnt enough to buy The Mout. Hes just super, thats all really.

Manny had a 12 million clause in his contract, it's as simple as that really.

Ask any Portuguese fans bar Sotnas who the most gifted player is out of the two, the majority will say Manuel.

The Caps for the National team back me up a little.

Felipe João Iria Santos Moutinho : 2005– Portugal 19 (1)
Manuel Henrique Tavares Fernandes : 2005– Portugal 4 (1)

And also The Mout is a year younger.

Never said he was better Goat, just more naturally gifted.

Ok, let me know when you have picked. I mean lets face it, in the real world, Manny is the only 1 we could afford, no way on Gods Earth do we have the £20m+ needed for The Mout.

I think if Manny ever got his act together (consistency, attitude, work rate) he could be a top player, up there with the best in Europe and certainly ahead of Moutinho.

If you look at his all round attributes he does have alot going for him, more than most anyway. He has a good mix of physical and technical attributes and he could go a long way. Maybe he just needs to settle down, he’s doing reasonably well at Valencia but I can see him moving again which isn’t good for his career but Valencia are in a mess.

Moutinho is a far more mature player though, he's far more consistent and unlike Manny he will turn up week in week out. The only problem with him is he's unproven, he's still playing in Portugal whereas Manny has produced good performances in both Spain and England, at a higher level.

I’ll go for Manny, only just though. I think under Moyes’ wing he could develop into an excellent, consistent performer if we signed him permanently.

In reality I can’t see us getting either of them, sadly. With Arteta in the middle we don’t really need them.
