The football in the end was horrific. Some insane decisions. Really good first season though. Can’t help feel he got a bit lucky in inheriting a decent defence.

Clearly he inherited a good team, his failures ever since show this. Had one of the best squads in world football at Belgium and did nothing with them, even Southgate schooled him at International football.
I would say that Belgian team were unlucky in facing a France side that played very negatively and Belgium gave them their hardest game in that tournament if I remember right. Beat Brazil in the quarters didnt they?

Think in his defended he also added to the team well. MacArthy is a bit under rated. Was outstanding that first season then was never as good after a bad injury.
