Its such a shame to have to retire at 33 and slum it. He should have opted for a lifelong career like teaching. Then he could work for 40 years getting a regular income equivalent to 35 weeks of being a footballer.

Always liked Johnson ... not the best striker we ever had , but he always worked hard... scored goals and seems like a top bloke... remember his mates taking a life sized card board cut of him on holiday ( was meant to be his wedding or stag do or something ) in the summer ... he planned to go but got called up for England I think
....worth mentioning confusion over David Weir's position at Rangers. The Rangers Board are saying he's resigned but Weir is denying it. I have a feeling this could end in the courts.

It was great also seeing him go in with the fans to the 2009 semi iirc with his sprog in an Everton kit!! He had left us by then. A little bit of Everton certainly touched him.
