BRUCE SET FOR NEW THREE-YEAR DEAL?

Steve Bruce
is set to be handed a new three-year deal at Newcastle, according to the Daily Star.

Despite continued discontent at his management from large swathes of the St. James' Park fanbase, Mike Ashley wants to reward the Toon boss with a new contract after he kept the club in the Premier League last season.

Bruce, 60, has felt the wrath of supporters ever since his appointment back in 2019 and was the subject of criticism during this week's 1-1 draw at Rotherham.

Daily Star sources suggest Sports Direct tycoon Ashley is happy to back Bruce for as long as keeps the Tyneside outfit in the top flight.
