The other point I'd make, is if the Saudis fall, its fascinating the Reuben brothers arent on a list to step in. Clearly they will be investing nothing.

Read the article a bit more. Theyve been haggling on price for 2.5 years (at least). Ashley's price has never changed. So.e suggestions Saudis wanted Newcastle to get relegated to let him lower the price (does this sound like mega money to you???).

Anyway a "verbal agreement" ie Staveley said shed pay that price to him. Nothing concrete. No papers, no proof of funds etc.

They progress it to the point where funds are needed to be shown, and it all goes quiet.

Imagine you were selling a house under that proviso. What would your conclusion be? And would you think this consortium wanting to buy it were going to spend hundreds of thousands more than the asking price doing it up? As that's what we are being lead to believe with this.

Some vulture capitalist yank will try it on after this. Pick it up at a pittance and bleed the asset dry.
