Well I'll take third (Spurs are winning) after seven games even though it grates that we could've gone top again with a win today.
Who'd have thought that the mancs at home seems to be an easier game than Southampton or Newcastle away?
3rd versus 15th next up at Goodison!

Yeah but by the time we play Utd on Saturday we could be down to 5th and within reach of every other club down to 13th !
Some of those players today were a disgrace to the shirt. Calro put 5 experienced (albeit defensive) midfielders in to give us a platform to work from. But all they did was pass it amongst themselves and sideways. There was absolutely no penetration and to be honest none of those 5 are capable. Siggy, Delph and Gomes were a joke and not for the first time and yet they keep playing. I can only hope Carlo is basically giving them a last chance, unfortunately it means us losing points when he does that. I know he hasn't really got proper back up players but Siggy, Gomez and Delph obviously have no pride in what they do. If I performed in my job like they do (and not just the once) I'd be sacked, I wish they could.

the message is clear from Carlo isn’t it ?

We need the dross OUT and reinforcements IN

Absolutely not a good performance, apart form the last 5 minutes. The penalty was not a penalty.

But still second. Who would have thought that in August?

A lot to be optimistic about. Broken and suspended players will be back. We even have a second keeper who was reliable today.

COYB!
Carlo in!

Yeah I am frustrated we didnt get anything.

However ask how many times we will be without our first choice Full backs and wide forwards? Of whom ALL FOUR play a huge part in how we play?

You then have to ask the back ups, to step upa nd perform at a higher level that they have proven time and time again they are not capable of playing.

Having one key player out and someone stepping in is an easier 'problem' to have than having four you know.
Just frustrating that teams like the scum, Arsenal and a few others can play virtually second elevens in cup competitions and some European games and get results. And let's be honest that without VAR that should have been our third loss on the bounce.

Mina;s pass to salah

Well that's just an individual error really.

Holgate could easily have made the same mistake.

What Holgate does is allow us to have a bit of pace in the back line which means Keane/Mina can step out and challenge and know there's a player there with pace to cover.
