I don't think - bar maybe that first West Brom goal - Holgate would have particularly helped us in any of the goals we conceded in the first four games

Surprising that a team that were largely garbage last year, without our main creative players, were poor today. We currently have a good starting ten outfield players mate and any injuries / suspensions to any of those players throws the dynamics of the whole team out - as we saw today.
We`ve got four promising youngsters in, Branthwaite, Gibson, Godffrey and Nkounkou for the future.
We still have players in the squad who aren`t good enough and some of these players will unfortunately have to to play ( as we`ve seen today ) when the first choice players aren`t available.
This is why teams like City and the RS win things, as they have real squad depth, which we simply don`t have ( yet )
We are and still remain a work in progress.
Do you not think if we can see this, that one of the best managers in club football can`t ?

Some of our fans really are deluded
They decided against going for a forward, even with Kean and Walcott going.
I had no massive issue with Kean or Walcott leaving but even with them here we needed a really, really good option to come in and allow us to a) have a brilliant back-up and b) change shape/system when needed
With Kean or Walcott going we, at the very least, needed a player who could play in the front three positions competently.
We got nothing and the club actively told sources in the media (namely the Athletic lads) that they took the decision to go with Tosun as back up forward.
Within two games (suspension for Rich, injury for James) that has cost us massively.
No it wouldn't, it would have been seen as a sensible move to strengthen a position we are clearly weak in.
We have nobody who is a natural right-sided winger in the squad, for example.
We should have moved for someone before October 5. It should have been Zaha, or if not, a player of that level of talent/potential. It was worth the financial risk.
