Just looking at the table as it stands today. In the last 5 games, since getting shut of Silva, apart from the RS who have taken 15/15, we are the next best performing team in the league with 11/15 points. Happy days....

And just think. People were (justifiably) mad that we underperformed for a draw against arsenal!

What I loved about the game is the fight they showed to win it. Having that determination to win every game is so important and was lacking under Silva. I know the last 2 games haven't been good opponents, but it's still early and baby steps are fine for now. DCL was fantastic and lots of good performances - Walcott was good. Kean sadly was a passenger, but maybe he needs a run of games.

There were loads of mistakes in yesterday's game, particularly when we were 2-1 that frustrated me. Richarlison who was very good in the main tries to play some really ambitious cross-field pass when there were many simpler, easier options and it gets cut out and leads to an immediate newcastle counter attack. It is decision making when in possession that can cost us and did cost us Vs Leicester away. We should have won that match as it happens we lost it. I'm sure Ancelotti will address that though.

Aside from the obvious increase in effort, the simple thing is how much more adaptable and less one dimensional we have become.

Blame the Ref for us been the better team overall lol

Newcastle boss Steve Bruce:
It is always frustrating when you think you don't deserve to get beaten. After getting back into the game we had a really good 20-25 minutes but then were caught by a suckerpunch. The effort and endeavour meant they didn't deserve to lose.
"We always said if Andy Carroll stays fit he is going to be a big asset for us. The big question is that one (fitness).
"We got our backsides kicked at Manchester United. Today we were punished for the referee's mistake. The players didn't deserve it but you have to accept it. Everton have transformed over the last few weeks.
"We are halfway there. We have done OK and given ourselves a nice platform for the second half of the season. We hope we can do better on the injury front. We hope that clears up.
"We have another home game next. The crowd were fantastic today. They responded and saw the team's resilience."
No mention of the soft free kick that led to their goal.

And our points weren't influenced by VAR unlike them.

Isn’t it amazing how when we stop playing 4231 we immediately stop losing games? The effort and money we put into a myriad of managers who couldn’t work this out yet Duncan Ferguson worked it out straight away. Beyond belief.
