Ah did he? Well maybe said person doesn’t want to jump ship mid season to a relegation battle. I read somewhere that TFG like Silva but again not sure how true that is.

Moyes, Potter and Southgate have all said or it has been said about them that they are holding off for the right opportunity. A relegation battle with limited funds might be an issue. I guess we’ll see how it plays out if Dyche doesn’t start getting wins.

I can see it being appealing to Potter. If he believes he can keep us up this year then the future would look very positive for someone like him at Everton. I also think he is a good manager and has proved that previously. It's also good when a manager who has been in and out of various club steps back to recharge their batteries so to speak. I think he will be raring to go and looks arguably the best option available.

My guess is Frank mate would have far more of a free hand here and suits Thelwell's three at the back footy

The reaction from elsewhere? Are you serious? The reaction from everywhere is Everton should know their place, deserve to be in the Championship and are about the same size club as Southampton.

Anybody who cares about what other fans think - and who makes decisions based on other fans' opinions - will condemn this club to League One.

Sad to see Evertonians joining in the clammer to peg us as a "small cloob".
