A tinpot sponsor for a side supposedly looking to challenge Top4!

Yokohama
AIA
Standard Chartered
Emirates
Etihad
Chevrolet
Sportpesa!

So you're comparing us to teams that regular compete in the Champions League or have a global standing??

Stop wetting the bed and bitching. Point 1 was to increase revenue through sponsorship, that's done now. Then you build and in 5 years time you'll hopefully be CL regulars or competing, this will then increase your ability to drive for more money

More than likely the contract will have performance measures built in in that if we out perform then the value increases

Stop being a little bisch because Man Utd Chelsea and City have better shirt deals

Depends how hugely impatient and negative you are.
just for once it would be good for the club to come out and make a statement that says "here we are, and we mean business", instead we just about manage to be a bit better than the mid tier clubs, Southampton, West Ham etc, it is so underwhelming almost as if they know we cant compete and have no intention of doing so.

The only thing that's underwhelming is your posts you tedious ferret

No you're right. I can't beleive our new sponsor isn't Apple or Google giving us £793m a season.

I'm so angry.

Are you underwhelmed with the sponser (gambling company like me) or the finances. Without regular European football, we were never going to the near the deals of the top 6. If we become regulars in Europe then maybe we can attract bigger name corporations and higher sponsorship deals in the future.

AIA and Standard Chartered - who had actually heard of them before they sponsored Spuds/RS?

Yokohama are a budget tyre company who are making a bid for the premium market so forked out to sponsor a team with maximum exposure.
Same with Chevrolet (aimed at the US market rather than the rebadged Korean cars they sell over here) - ManUre will give them that exposure.

Etihad - pretty obvious why

Emirates - back when Arsenal were winning things

Everton? We don't have the global appeal that others in the top 6 do have. Sponsorship is made on a global level now so teams with the most global exposure will attract the biggest sponsors. We aren't there yet - we're at the beginning of the journey. We can't force major global blue chip companies to sponsor us as they want something in return - exposure to the maximum number of consumers and for the team to be winning things. I really don't see the issue with SportPesa.

Finally someone with sense.

I'm concerned over the length of the deal, why 5 years?! But £9m a year is vastly improved, but in 4 years, will that be gazumped? I hope we've inserted a break in contract. But we're building slowly, and doubling our money including USM is a huge stride in the right direction.
