I'm not bothered what industry the sponsor is in as long as they pay top whack to get on our shirt (and it's not a Wonga type brand).

The design of the sponsor's logo is important though from a commercial point of view, and if they are our main shirt sponsor I hope they do what Chang did and change their logo to work with the shirt.

For example this on our shirt would look terrible:

But this would look much better IMO (especially on an Adidas design instead of Umbro lol):

Can't see it; they didn't change it for the Hull strip.

I don't particularly agree with a betting sponsor on the shirt but even those clubs in the premier league who don't have one on their shirt will still be partnered or sponsored by one in some way.

Sorry to hear about your friend mate. That's a great point about the spending limits. If you've never watched the panorama on those roulette terminals I highly recommend it mate. Heartbreaking stuff. Il be honest I'm not against gambling, I don't do it myself. I don't think it should be banned because an unfortunate few are caught up in it for whatever reason. I do however think the way it's forced onto people's televisions, phones, radios, tablets, poster boards etc should be massively brought in line and education and support should be at the forefront of tackling it. Not meaningless warnings where it's already to late. It is what it is, a bet. They don't need to glamorise it like it's some unbelievable day out with the lads down the boozer on the perfect day out

Wish it was an unforunate few mate, they reckon that at least 600k "have a problem with gambling", but i guess as thats less than 1% of the population they dont care that much.

Wonder how many people will decide not to buy a shirt for whatever reason (moral objection to the sponsor, logo looks crap, etc.) You can knock all that money off the top of the sponsorship deal.

You know they already sponsor Hull City?

If you look at their shirt you'll get a good idea what it'll be like as they changed it for their shirt.

I'd guess a similar number who wouldn't buy one with booze on it.

Split on this one. I'm hoping it is really going to be worth it financially going with this betting firm. Chang pay currently around 5.3m a year, I'm hoping at least double that, does anyone know how much? On the other hand, being sponsored by a betting firm, doesn't rest easy with me. Although if reports are true that they are going to create up to 100 jobs in Liverpool, this takes the bitter taste away somewhat.
