Like you, @D410 I found it quite pleasant. I was wrapped up pretty well, but at the back of the south I didn't feel the cold, to the point I didn't wear gloves.We found the opposite. BMD is sealed at the corners so there was no draught from the cold wind at all. I was pleasantly surprised.
At Goodison the corners are open, and the wind is much more prevalent (speaking from UGS, anyway).
I had expected it to be like Stoke! The walk back was pretty cold, so I perceived it as the stadium being fairly well insulated/protected from the weather.
As others have said, I do have concerns about the train situation because (like I had predicted) Sandhills is going to be a very unpleasant experience.
I may try the busses next time.
