New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Having only been to Goodison twice as a rather poor Everton and Thomas Gravesen fan from Denmark. I'm just so happy the team isn't going to be fighting until the last second of the season to avoid relegation. Goodison deserves a send-off with no worried fans in the ground.

Watching from afar the way the crowd's mood has changed these last weeks and it just warms my heart.

They haven’t done yet despite, as you quite rightly say, there’s nothing stopping them. 4 years in Oct, it not like the Middle East doesn’t have construction design skills to move quickly if they so wished.
I remain unconvinced their commitment is equal to Abu Dhabi’s at City.
The Crown Prince of KSA (defacto ruler in the eyes of most governments as his father is elderly) is a known Man Utd fan. They were always his first choice, but not available. Newcastle was available, and fits in with the PIF strategy of "investing" in multiple sports - the country is investing in other sports infrastructure even before the World Cup was bought - think F1 new track, cycling, etc.). The Kingdom does have ties to the Northeast though - a lot of the old ICI sites were bought up by SABIC - so I wouldn't be surprised if they do look at an area redevelopment around a new stadium - the main driving factor will be competing with the Emeratis at Manchester. Middle East willy-waving is not just restricted to goat pens....

It's an odd country - there's huge amounts of construction going on, but most of the design, masterplanning etc. is bought-in expertise. The local leadership then "lead", with last minute design changes on a whim, the sort of thing that construction advisors just really love to deal with...

They should invite the eyebrow Kopite and his cone to open the stadium.
He said it would never be built in his lifetime - I believe that transpired to be the case. If he was cremated, maybe his family could bring his ashes? But of course, they'd need to bring them to the site he originally placed the cone, which as we know, is not actually BMD....

Kopites are like herpes - the gift that keeps on giving.

Tommy Gravesen one of my favourite Everton players. Met him once before going into a game and is genuinely one of the nicest people you could meet

Lads getting home from the new stadium and reading out their snag lists to their wives tomorrow night
