New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

For those fans who haven’t purchased yet, there is thousands of fantastic seats left in the north stand and if you don’t mind sitting above the away fans, them sections haven’t been touched at all

Got a horrible feeling that pitch is going to get torn to shreds during the test game.
Hope not, but it still doesn’t seem to be quite ready (in my completely uneducated horticultural opinion)
Looks a bit sparse in some of the corners from drone footage, but if there was any risk, they would have delayed the test event. No risk of damage to the pitch, the. Hybrid pitches, particularly top end ones like we’ll have, won’t cut up and damage, unlike your local parks where you are man marked by dog turds on corners. Outrageous how good some of the new professional pitches are these days

Thing is March April May is good season for grass growing, it will get its strength at this time, they know what their doing 👍

Last night was the start of me getting a bit misty eyed about leaving Goodison. Probably coincided with buying our tickets for the new stadium yesterday and obviously the result.

I spent a lot of the evening just taking it all in; the walk up, the dirty streets, the tight walkways, the stairs and the smells. Every bit of chipped paint work, every wooden seat and obstructed view.

It’s never going to be the same again. The new stadium might produce new great memories (fingers crossed) but it’s never ever going to have that raw, combustible energy that permeates from Goodison. There is no doubt the stadium wins us points.

I ended up in a different row when Beto scored. Not sure that will happen in the safe standing.

Maybe part of it is age, I’m right in the midst of my 30s and I’m noticing the creep of nostalgia into my brain, but football continues to move away from what I truly love about it. Goodison is such a physical representation of that love and, despite how glorious it looks, BMD in many ways symbolises that movement.

Football is just different now. It’s cleaner, it’s shinier and it strives for perfection. At every level. Even Marine are eyeing up a new ground.

I’m sure over the years I’ll learn to love the new stadium. I’m excited to go and visit on Monday. But it will never be the same and
I’m sure when I tell tales to my son about coach welcomes and the roar of Goodison, it will seem like a different world.

A few more games left. I’ll keep soaking it all in.

I was similar on Wednesday. My normal season ticket spec is in the Main Stand but I was in the Park End last night. Looking up at the Main Stand from this view was amazing, admiring the sheer size of it towering over the pitch.

Great pic, roof looks superb and makes you appreciate why those big posts were needed 😆
