Did it in about 25 minutes when I was over. Mind you, we didn't know the exact route, so that probably took a bit of time.My mate done the walk from moorfields to stadium just over 20 minutes it took him....he 5ft 5 so you may be quicker![]()
Not so sure, if the new owners want continuous full houses at the new ground then make sure they have team that warrants it.I envisage some poor attendances for likes of midweek league cup games once the novelty factor wears off. Even unattractive league games will see swathes of empty seats imo.
That`s a good system and I know a few folks that have done similar before they were able to go and get their own. The digital only system might make it a little awkward, but I`m a bit of an old timer that doesn`t really trust tech too much.I share my season ticket, I have 10 games and a mate has 9, works well for us, last couple of seasons I've had the card and he has the digital..not sure how next season will work but am guessing will need to transfer to him under friends and family on a game by game basis
I think the walk to get to Sandhills will encourage some folks to head straight to town from BMD and might ease the queuing time at the station. Likely going to be buses lined up to take people straight into town after the game.I don't know how many people use Merseyrail for the National tbh. I think a lot come from out of town on coach trips too. The only time I've been it was fairly chaotic. That said, I think people will tolerate inconvenience for rare or special events like an annual race-day or a cup final at Wembley, but most would be less tolerant if their regular matchday experience was very inconvenient..... with people leaving early to avoid traffic or bus/train Queues etc.
The Key with BMD is proximity to town and all the transport hubs etc. I think there are solutions but the transport plan at present doesn't seem to cover them adequately. The test events will at least allow them to measure some of those factors....and give the fans the chance to get their bearings too.
Our fans have sold out week night away games with difficult travel (e.g. Palace in the cup), I can't see poor travel links stopping thousands from going to the match. We've been fighting relegation for the last few years and fans continue to sell out home and away.I envisage some poor attendances for likes of midweek league cup games once the novelty factor wears off. Even unattractive league games will see swathes of empty seats imo.
Up until Dyche was sent packing there were quite a few of those the last 18 months.I envisage some poor attendances for likes of midweek league cup games once the novelty factor wears off. Even unattractive league games will see swathes of empty seats imo.
Yes I get they would be focused on maximising income any way possible. But it’s the callous opportunistic greed that appalls. I’m not surprised and they won’t be the only club either. The way they look at it if your not going to the game, you`re not buying a program and spending money at the ground. And they probably see that there are more than enough folks wanting to go to OT that they`ll make more money selling tickets on a game to game basis rather than as a season ticket. Just an example of the club trying to squeeze the last few quid that they can get from supporters.
A better example was an end of season Monday night league game with nothing riding on it where we asked for an extra allocation, sold that and asked for more. If our form sees us still down toward the bottom half of the table of course there`ll be empty seats, but that`s going to because the football we`re playing is probably pants, which would happen at plenty of other clubs. The last few years we`ve had folks wanting to go the game no matter how bad we`ve been because its getting close to the end of Goodison. Our fans have sold out week night away games with difficult travel (e.g. Palace in the cup), I can't see poor travel links stopping thousands from going to the match. Aintree is more open plan, easier to manage crowds. Right across the road from the course, so a lot more convenient. Used it loads of times, not perfect, but more than manageable for a couple of days a year. Not that busy on the first day. Sandhills far more complicated. Games most weeks, early, late, midweek. It will be problematic unless they get their act together soon.Is there much difference in the size of Sandhills station to the station at Aintree? For the National meeting there`s 3 days where crowds between 50 to 80k get to and from the race course and the station seems to handle it well.
Hi guys, I've got a place in the Trinity Place, I am 76 and have also renewed my season ticket in the hope of being able to give it to my 15yr old grandson on a game to game basis. Do any of you guys think this will be possible.
Thanks for that he is a member and is on my family and friends. Didn't think it would be that easy with the age difference.. thanks again. He'll need a membership that is then linked to your account as part of your friends and family network. You'll then be able to transfer the ticket to him as you need.
