Because there are metal barriers in place to separate the home and away fans in the south stand. They look permanent, but maybe the barriers can be moved to allow more home fans in if the away fans don’t take up their full ticket allocation. But that looks doubtful. There will be empty seats when we play the likes of Fulham.

It's always a catch 22 with Away Sections.
You can have permanent barriers and stewards either side as we will do at BMD which means we don't lose any seats to those big tarps separating fans, however it also means we won't gain any seats if they don't sell the full allocation.
At Goodison we have the temporary tarps which means we lose seats to seperate the fans but also can gain them if they don't sell the upper balcony.
Best way to look at it is that regardless of the away section attendance there will always be 50k blues at BMD.
