New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

If you want to get rid of the board campaign on something that's achievable but guys I really don't think you have a hope. The best you can do is campaign to put pressure on the board to get a new stadium built. Then we might be attractive enough to be bought.

Are you sure you're not projecting there regarding vested interest?

I've got an interest. I guess you could define it as "vested" in so much as I'm an Everton fan and I want the best stadium for Everton so that I can go to it.

A new stand isn't attractive enough to bring in the corporate revenue. A new stadium would.

Disagree :)

So the summary is very simple:

We need a Sheikh. There's no that kind of loose money in UK I suspect.

*but..ffs. BK wont be giving it to some Sheikh

**Who owns Greggs? Maybe they have money?

There is another reason to support a new stadium. It's Bill's preferred option so he can't dismiss the pressure out of hand.

He was a supporter of the Goodison for Everton and even donated money to them when Johnston planned to move to Kirkby Golf Course.

If he can change his mind from that, he can change it back.

The problem is that if the stream sites aren't paying what sky pay if anything at all then football won't see the money just the same way torrent sites don't pay holywood.

But the stream is still broadcast on normal TV somewhere. Currently, each region pays a fortune for this privilege, as they end up making profits from advertising revenues. Advertising agencies don't care if a subscription is being paid, they just want people to see their adverts, and the prospect that their advert will be seen all over the world will be seen as a bonus to them.

This internet TV thing will eventually make geographically limited broadcasting rights redundant, imo. If it does, then you would expect a decrease in the amount of TV money as more and more geographically based TV broadcasters throughout the world realise that they are losing out to internet based alternatives.

What will the clubs do to get round this? I do not know, but clubs having their own TV channels does not seem far fetched. They would then benefit from the actual advertising that takes place during the game, which brings in even more money than what the broadcasting rights currently cost. If the clubs can't have their own channels, then the PL will have to make their own, and they will have to do a little bit of work in managing and administering the advertising gold machine.

But as far as I know, Sky provide the footage, as in they actually film the actual football. Everyone else pays to either air it, or buy the coverage then overdub it as their own production. Or something like that.

Which is of no help to the discussion reading it back.

Yeah I did think about that, who actually records the footage, and it probably is Sky? They would have to be replaced if they became a victim of the internet. The PL would have to manage its own TV channel, imo, every game will be shown in a bid to match the massive amounts of money they currently get through selling TV rights in different locations throughout the world.
