New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Dave you will and the rest of us will see IDC, that it will be sorted.

All the stuff you come out with is specualation, because you like the rest of us know sod all of what is happening behind those doors.
Told you before mate, my biggest concern here is not seeing EFC saddled with a nightmare debt for decades which leaves us teetering on the brink with any future catastrophic dip in form or the projected tv revenue that we rely on like a smackhead goes down significantly...both of which are at least possible.

Everyone is knackered if the TV gets switched off Dave. Cos if that happens, then the global reach of the PL has broken.

Its like saying "I wont invest in a film cos people might stop watching them"

The form point is fine, but again, applies to everyone. To degrees, granted.

Not everyone. In the future there'll be a break with collective bargaining and larger clubs with massive audiences who follow their club will strike out and take control of their own broadcasts across multiple platforms. The rest will try and follow suit but will get left behind and fall into increasing debt.

Could happen that. Highly doubt it though. The PL, by a mile, is the biggest global football show on earth.

But in terms of the fracturing of the delivery methods, Net Flicks, Amazon, etc etc, yeah, they pose a threat. But to Sky and BT.

We should minimize doubt and uncertainty over matters we cant control and maximize what we can control - like the size and location of a stadium build to minimize exposure to a massive cost, and to ensure other parties are substantial partners in terms of paying for a stadium and not just loaning cash and acting in a parasitical fashion...which is what we're faced wit now.

The next TV deal will probably be the last collective agreement where we all get the same share.
Someone like Netflix will be offering deals direct to clubs and they will make their own money

They can offer what they want, but the PL is a collective body.

If they want to rip up the one thing that generates the cash Netflix et al want to pay, then thats just foolish.

Liverpool, for example, being paid gazillions for largely uncompetive games around the globe will soon lose traction.

Pretty sure the powers that be, public or behind the scenes, get that.

I don't get the pessimism, the whole point of long term financing on tick is to minimise the risk of such things. I would be more worried if we committed to paying back the stadium over a shorter period of time using commercial interest rates. If the TV money dries up if we are paying back 40-50 million a year then we would have problems.

At worst the stadium would be cost neutral, but I would imagine it would generate more income even taking into account the yearly repayment than if we stayed at Goodison.

Indeed, though I expect BT will still broadcast every sodding game they play.......

They have a much bigger fans base due to area population, and also a richer fan base.

But you were talking about attendances and waiting lists and the historical facts just do not back this up....

We have an opportunity, a single opportunity, to regain our position in English football. We need to be brave, think big league, and do it. What Spurs can or cannot do is irrelevant to what our goals should be, I’ll bet that 99% of the posters on here weren’t even born when they last won the title........
