New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

The lack of segregation is going to be a major issue one day. Was chaotic yesterday with bottles and other stuff getting thrown from both sides. Can't believe their fans weren't kept in at the end

For high profile games you need to keep away fans back. The stadium outside is not designed for segregation because it's all funnelled through the dock road.

Millwall coming up would be an obvious flashpoint, but some of the away fans you get in Europe can be wild, so if both those things happen then it needs to be planned for.

On Sunday we were sat on the wall outside Greggs on Derby Road and police asked us to step back as 200 R/S were walking up under escort. Never seen such a load of dirty scruffs in my life , nearly all dressed in black and none wearing colours . Not proper fans in my opinion.

Their younger element act like roadmen. Van Dijk even called them out when they won the league and asked them to wear red for the last game so the Kop wasn't all black.

The frustration is that loads of us knew this would happen , it was discussed amongst blues here. online and in person . A large number of us predicted trouble with leaving the stadium post game .

There is now a demand to get it sorted , acting after incidents happen is poor planning. The plod/club needed to sort it before Sunday at the very least , fortunately nothing too serious developed but it’s ridiculous the operation planning is now engaged in shutting the stable door whilst the horse has well gone .

Issues afterwards , the RS getting the benefit of a refereeing display and a last min winner for them all feel predictable and it seems nothing was done to prevent problems on or off the field.

At least it's relatively minor disorder but away fans have to be kept back for high profile games. Really that was the first high profile game fan wise. Man United on a Monday night in winter, in a tame match, didn't really cause bother, same with Leeds. But a weekend game in April with the sun out, and a lively affair against the biggest rivals, you can't just have a hands off approach when there's so little segregation.

Coming out of Goodison for a wild derby last season, I thought then it would be chaos at the new ground if away fans weren't held back. It might have even been worse had they not scored at the end because that caused a mass exodus from the home ends while they stayed behind celebrating for a bit, rather than everyone getting off at full time after a draw.

At my age I’d certainly agree it’s definitely minor disorder , I think there are people of different ages/sex who would find that deeply unpleasant and probably intimidating .

Again I agree on how the crowd dispersed with the goal and also I was always convinced it’d go off at goodison but in reality given the number of routes in a number of directions it wasn’t an issue .

There was trouble against Newcastle and someone else who I can’t remember as I saw kick offs along Reagent road .

It’s not for us to come up with and list solutions but the current situation can’t be allowed to continue into next season as incidents will occur and unfortunately likely get worse .

I thought most Scandinavians were smart dressers but I suppose there have to be exceptions. 🤔

Not said anything all season, because you sound like an absolute crank - even more so than usual.

But I've found the stewarding at Hill Dickinson Stadium to be really poor.

At Goodison, particularly the Park End the stewards were tremendous. They'd greet/talk to you, and on every exchange - they were great. That's not been the case at Hill Dickinson. There's loads more of them, but they just fill a space and rabbits in headlights.

I’ve only been to one game so far so can only go off that but a lot seem to be from an outside agency rather than locals actually employed by the club (perhaps I’m getting them confused with the security at the dock wall). But I imagine the fact they might only be there for one match means they’re not really that arsed about the job/how they come across.

My experience is much more limited than yours - but on the occasions I have needed stewards at Goodison and Everton Stadium I have had lovely experiences. I once asked a steward to point me in the direction of my seat in the Top Balcony simply as I couldn't identify the precise vomitory, and he looked me in the eye and pointed directly to the away supporters in the Bullens stand. "See that over there, that's where you need to go", he said with a chuckle. Seeing me laugh, he knew it wasn't my first rodeo and did the needful. Just such good humour. Similarly at the new stadium, when we struggled to get in at the turnstiles, the steward couldn't have been more helpful - although I feel even she was surprised that we had to use the "back" of our phones rather than the screens at the sensor.

I hope we don't lose the human touch that I have personally experienced as the occasional visitor up to now...

the last few times I have been to the ground there seems to be a real issue getting people out of the plaza after the game, particularly at the far exit heading back into the city centre, circled in Red below. Which means there is a huge group of people in the section of the plaza circled in Green. What cant work out is if the stewards are actually holding people back or its just the volume of people on the road, blocking the way? Does anyone know?

I understand the club cant make more holes in the dock wall, but they are using the Nelson Dock, next door, for the Disabled parking, which already has 2 more large exits. Surely they could let people out that way as well? Because presumably the people who have parked there cant drive out until the people have dispersed anyway.

Where are you in the new stadium?

I've had 3 exchanges, within same area, all terrible. One couldn't speak English - so naturally, wasn't able to tell me where the accessibility lift was which coincidentally, was right next to where he was standing.

[Edit] I'm wrong actually, every time I have an issue at the turnstiles which is most games as I don't do digital/wallet stuff other than at Everton, they're proactive/rapid to sort it for me. Obviously a priority is ensuring there's not people like me causing big delays. But elsewhere, pffft.
