New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Was a few Chelsea there as well, fun and games by the Abbey after.
Real fun and games with the Chelsea fans was in the November of 1978,pitched street battles from Goodison to Lime St station,we used to walk from Goodison to town and got caught up in it.Liverpool Echo displayed some of the weapons used and confiscated. The worst football violence i have ever personally witnessed

Think that one was payback for the High Street Kensington ambush of evertonians earlier that season

Those weapons were from before the game .
Hundreds had met in Gerard gardens.
Everton ditched them when
Police rounded them up.
Kept Everton in a escort of sorts up to goodison.
The local lads from county and Walton rd were up by the ground. Early doors having fun
Shouted. Chelsea to a few coache loads of Their fans that had come by coach the silly bs thought it was there boys and ran over to join up, got legged all over the place and had only gone a few hundred yards off the coaches.
Murder on the way back to lime st , police horses getting attacked.
If the police hadn't been on there game there would have been serious damage getting done.
The one after the Latchford game was as the poster said just before the abbey opposite side of the road.
They didn't get very far up the road.

Finally! Great to see the South stand dividing wall painted blue! Looks 100% better.

Mick Lyons was diving in Chelsea's penalty area every time he was in it. It was funny but it eventually worked...never a pen mind but he must have got into the refs head with all his diving. :)
I remember him looking like a schoolboy next to Micky Droy. My god that lad Droy was a grock!
