New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Great post Tom.Older supporters from the early 60's onwards saw some fantastic football and some fantastic atmosphere in Goodison Park along with lots of heartbreak and missed opportunities some not self inflicted.Recent history shall we say Premier League onwards have been difficult to say the least. You only have to look at the passionate away support to see Everton are still shining brightly COYB.

IMO the away fans in BM at only come across as loud due to the muted home support. Sunderland for example had over 7k and I thought they were relatively quiet compared to times they've been at Goodison.
9k Evertonians in BM would not have as good an impact as they would in Goodison as far as I'm concerned - its just simply a more difficult environment to get going because unless its everyone it fails.

It most certainly could, as the away fans have proven!

Goodison had been a morgue in recent seasons, hence the reason as to why we only won there 5 times last season.

That might only show that away fans can make a racket anywhere, even in a wide open stand with little or no acoustic assistance. They're generally the most vociferous hard core members of their club's fanbase. Same with our away following. Placing them around a corner section also adds some unifying acoustic benefits.

I think the fact that we weren't a very good attacking football team was the main reason that we only won 5 games there last season. We're near the bottom of the real and net spend league for the past 5 seasons and have barely escaped relegation several times. If you want a real correlation, it's generally better to assess a larger sample size.... and comfortably the largest number of top flight matches might suggest greater "home-field advxntage" than most.
