Probably been asked before but how do we build a stadium on sand. Any engineers on here?

….Dubai is built on sand, I’m sure they know what they’re doing.

Compacted sand is remarkably stable.

its quite easy, there's a big hole in the ground with sold walls on each side, pack it with sand, the sand cant go anywhere because of the solid walls surrounding it, pile down to either reach solid rock or have sufficient benefit of friction within the packed sand and bingo, solid base. Dubai doesn't have a solid wall surrounding the sand base and they build really tall stuff. It will be fine.

No. At the moment it appears the owner (or his financial backer) are funding the prep stage as it evolves into above ground structural work.

At some point they may issue bonds or invite private equity type financing but no sign of that yet. Plus interest rates, post COVID, look likely to increase significantly and possibly quickly. Could see the owner financing the lot.

Relegation excluded that is.. that is the wild card in this.

Usmanov will pay £300 million for 10 year naming rights. With the £100 million from Moshiri not much debt left. Sorted

One other, there was a vacancy for a head waiter to work alongside the bar staff at Bramley Moore, that vacancy has now been filled....

I believe the reinstating of the dock furniture will only be done after the stadium is built so I would class that more as 'finishing' than 'prep'.

Yes, I probably should've said prep plus reinstatement/protection of heritage by raising quaysides etc. Which is essentially all outside of actual stadium material construction costs.
