Of course they do but xG is so completely irrelevant.

If a striker you're wanting to sign scores 10 goals but with an xG of 6 (so they scored more than expected) it doesn't automatically mean they're insane or purple patch etc. as all games, all situations are different.

Like I say, I love stats but xG is pure tosh.
