Just like any other candidate really.

It's split yes but I think it's fair to say the split is about 95%/5% against him!

Actually, not sure it's more split in terms of.more wanting/not wanting. It's much more emotive with Benitez though and there's less of a middle ground.

Supposedly ~40 people "applied" which I find really funny, it's like they put their CV on Indeed or something.

I find it unfathomable that Benitez was the best of that bunch.

Take that 40 applications story with a pinch of salt as it come from the Liverpool FC Echo.

I suppose even if that many people did apply, it doesn’t mean the club didn’t set their sights on other managers at other clubs and put the feelers out there via agents and what not.

Again it’s all conjecture and hearsay, I’m doing it too. I just find it hard to believe we have solely set out to get Benitez like many perceive it to be, it just doesn’t make sense, for me he’s been chosen as he’s the best out of what is available to them (the board) based on experience which is what I believe they’re looking for.

We aren’t the only ones who are struggling with candidates for managerial positions currently and that’s a bit telling.

Yes in my opinion. There were some who got sucked into the idea we were going down and thought we needed him.
