Look up The Walkmen's album "You & Me", Sunset Rubdown's album "Dragonslayer", for more fun (upbeat in terms of sonics and lyrically) look at Ponytail album "Do Whatever you Want All the Time" and for something out of left field (tried to stay with guitar rock based on your interests) look up Rebirth Brass Band and anything they do.
