One thing that is disturbing is after 2-3 mths last yr Roberto got us playing how he wanted and it was working. Fast forward 14mths and the players are struggling to play the way he wants.

I think he may have lost some of the players

there has been 15 games this season people think we should win every game the league is tight look at the newcastle and stoke result today last season 5 th place was great but you have to except that it will take time toncatch city chelsea united with the amount of money they can spend on players

Not quite true. Last year at this time we were in transition and we were playing a form of lethal counter attacking football that properly suited Lukaku and the players we had, with a dynamic centre mid of Barry and McCarthy being central to everything we did.

By December, this was over. Then for the entirety of 2014 we've been hopping between good and absolutely grim, with Lukaku not suiting the system at all.

So it's weird - we were at our best between August and December 2013, where Martinez hadn't fully taken control of what he wanted to do, and the ethic of Moyes was still in place.

Now, the work ethic is gone, Martinez's tika taka crap has come in in full force, and there's absolutely zero battle in the side.

I'm worried to be perfectly honest. The rough patch we're in now should be the easiest thing to fix - basically, take the reins off the talented players we have and let them battle, but Martinez refuses to do it.
 
7 points off 4th place is usually not too bad, 7 points of 4th place when there has been so many poor performances this season by other clubs is embarrassing, its all relative, clubs above us are poor we are shyte, simples, so easy to defend against no width no umph nothing, we are missing such a big chance and maybe our last. for a while, you never know of course, win 3 or 4 on the bounce we are back on it but at the moment we have 6 points from the past 6 games and if you are happy with that then youre a joke and if you say your bnot happy but you trust Martinez then you are a sheep

Think you're underestimating how good we've been in 2014. That nine games winning run in march-april where we thrashed arsenal to go 4th is about as good as I've ever seen us play.

7 game winning run which was broken by a cup battering at arsenal and then when we met their reserves we showed them what for

Exactly he's talking through his sitting down face, those games against Arsenal and Utd at home we're easily some of our best performances of last season.

Not at all. Everytime a big game came up in 2014, we fell apart (Spurs, for example). That run you speak of was after we'd blew it in February.

The system we play currently is capable of great things when we're confident, and I'll always applaud Martinez for wanting to play the right way, but there simply has to be a Plan B when things aren't working, where you just grind out results and put the graft in ahead of philsophy. I'm not seeing that right now, and more alarmingly I'm seeing no prospect that Martinez is capable of this right now.
