Said it repeatedly, the issue with Maupay wasn't the player because he's effective/scores goals elsewhere to a level that was above what we had.

The issue was how we was trying to play him - and his confidence was shot as fans piled on.

If we’d have signed him when we hadn’t been at our lowest ebb, he might’ve done alright. As it is, he came into a pressure cauldron and couldn’t handle it.

Probably helps he’s got a top forward in Toney to play off now as well, like.

Doesn’t matter that he is scoring goals for a team who aren’t playing him as an isolated striker, he absolutely couldn’t of been less suited to Everton, the pressure, the size of our club and its fans and the way the team is setup under Dyche. He was equally abysmal under Lampard. Let’s hope he keeps scoring and there are more teams interested in buying him in the summer
