The really funny thing is that Rondon probably does quite well in this set up.

Not only is he terrible but we are playing him in a role that makes him even worse. Maupay as a lone striker should be lower down the pecking order than trying Gray up there or even a centre half.

And he would have done nothing and then people would have argued that maupay should have started and vice a versa…

They are both nowhere near good enough and thelwell/the board should be hounded out of this club for leaving us with them two.

….it’s not a matter of Simms being better than Maupay, it’s a matter of he being less worst.

Playing him in this position is just pointless.

McNeil looked like a total waste of space but suddenly is banging over crosses constantly and running his arse off and actually looks ok because he’s being played in a system that suits him. Maupay should be off a target man like when he played his best football next to Wellbeck for Brighton, never ever a lone striker.

It’s not his fault he was signed. This club has a long history of making bizarrely bad signings. From Brett Angel, Claus Thompson, John Spencer. I’m sure we could list 50 at least.
